Wellthy Soul
OVERVIEW
My team and I were assigned a client, Wellthy Soul, a company that sells health programs for the body and soul to help women rediscover joy and happiness through holistic health and wellness coaching. We were tasked to redesign the Wellthy Soul website and create a user friendly experience online. Our client explained to us that the content was not the issue, just how it is organized. She wanted her users to know exactly how to purchase the programs.
MY ROLE & PROCESS
I worked on a team of UX Designers a UX Designer and Project Lead, conducting research, user interviews, user testing, creating wireframes, and the high fidelity prototype. I led the client meetings and communicated with our client on a regular basis.

DEFINING THE KEY PAIN POINTS
ANALYZING THE CURRENT EXPERIENCE
My team and I began the research process by first analyzing the current experience of the Wellthy Soul website. We each performed a heuristic evaluation of the website to make notes of major issues.
CONDUCTING USER TESTING
After studying and taking notes of the current experience for ourselves, we needed to see how other users experience and interact with it. Our client told us that her users were solely women and between the ages of 32-44, so we wanted to make sure to interview users of the same demographic. We were able to find a common theme within the user feedback:
PROBLEM
Women struggling with confidence and limited time need a convenient way to receive health and wellness coaching because they are searching for a lifestyle improvement.
PERSONA
Knowing that our client knew her clientele and demographics of her users, we wanted to create our persona with her. To do this, we did an activity to create our persona using post its and a chart based on what we think the persona thinks, feels, says, and does.
DESIGN PROCESS
DESIGNING SOLUTIONS
Our client was using a WordPress template that was not serving the goals of Wellthy Soul, based on our user research and testing. We needed to test templates that would be a better fit for the company. We believe that by providing the Wellthy Soul customers with an intuitive navigation process using progressive disclosure, the customers will increase trust in the brand which will result in increased sales conversions.
PROGRESSIVE DISCLOSURE
Implementing progressive disclosure within the Wellthy Soul website will allow attendees to maintain focus with less distractions. It will provide minimal information at a time and allow the user to obtain more information and data as they please by clicking. This interaction design technique both keeps users on the site and allows breadcrumbs to allow them control of the information they view.
USER TESTING
After testing about ten templates with users, we found that users preferred two specific templates that had these attributes:
This was helpful to both the team and our client to see what users want to see and how they prefer to interact within the site. We discussed the options with our client and together, chose a theme from the two templates that users preferred.
PROTOTYPING
We couldn’t simply tell her the best template to use and be done. Using Sketch, we wanted to show our client exactly what her website would look like with the chosen template.
SITE STYLE
Our clients current style guide colors worked well for both her business and clientele. We decided to use her current colors and implement a new font that would better suit her brand.
